Medical instruments
Medical instruments in the Finer catalog are accessories for the operating room. Right now the section holds orthopedic traction sets. These attach to the operating table and keep the patient's leg in traction during femoral osteosynthesis, hip fracture fixation and other lower limb procedures. Manufacturers include ATESE and Turkey's Üzümcü Medical Devices.
Why does an operating room need a traction set?
During osteosynthesis the leg has to be held in traction and in a set position while the surgeon works and the radiographer takes control images. Without a device, assistants do this by hand. It is hard work. And the position slowly drifts. A traction set attaches to the operating table, the surgeon reduces the fracture, the set holds the position, and the result is checked with a C-arm while nobody has to touch the leg. The team does not have to hold the leg for the whole operation, and the position stays the same between images. That is why such sets are standard equipment in trauma and orthopedic operating rooms.
Which traction sets does the Finer catalog offer?
The ATESE TS-I traction set for orthopedic surgery is made of steel, and its product card states compatibility with any table. The OM-520 orthopedic traction set is made of 304 steel. There is also the Q3. Some items have a price on the website; for the rest we prepare a commercial proposal.
How to choose an orthopedic traction set?
Start with the table. The way the set mounts to the side rails and segments, and the permitted load, must suit your model, so check them before ordering. Then look at adjustment: how far the limb can be pulled, raised or abducted, and how precisely it locks. Supports in the imaging zone must not get in the C-arm's way during fluoroscopy. The material has to withstand disinfection, and the set should be easy to store on a cart near the OR.
Where to buy a traction set for the operating room?
Trauma and orthopedic departments have been among the customers of Finer Ukraine LLC since it started working with hospitals in 2015. Tell us which operating table you have and which lower limb procedures you perform. We will pick a set for that table and prepare tender documents, then deliver it and show your staff how to mount it. Operating tables and C-arms are in the catalog too, and other equipment is under Medical equipment. A turnkey operating room is described on our solutions page; call 0 800 334 585.
FAQ
1. Which medical instruments does the Finer catalog offer?
This section currently holds the ATESE TS-I, OM-520 and Q3 orthopedic traction sets for lower limb surgery. Endoscopic equipment and electrosurgery, like other operating room equipment, are in neighboring sections of Medical equipment.
2. Which medical instruments must be disinfected?
Every reusable item after contact with a patient. Items that touch intact skin, such as traction set supports, are disinfected. Instruments that enter tissue are disinfected, cleaned and then sterilized as well. Equipment for this is in Disinfection and sterilization.
3. Which instruments are steam sterilized?
Metal instruments and glassware, also textiles: anything that tolerates steam at 121 or 134 °C. Steel, including the 304 steel of the OM-520, withstands both disinfection and steam processing. Optics and heat-sensitive plastics go to low-temperature methods.
4. Does the catalog have endoscopic instruments?
Yes, in another section. Cameras and endoscopy systems are there, as are laparoscopes and hysteroscopes. Insufflators and irrigation pumps sit in the same section, Endoscopic equipment.
5. Which documents are needed to buy a traction set through a tender?
Usually a technical specification listing the material and adjustment ranges, a declaration of conformity and a Ukrainian-language manual. It is worth writing the table mounting type into the requirements so the set fits your table.
